The big match

England vs Poland
England head Group I with six points, but their opening games against San Marino and Albania represented fairly modest tests. Poland represent a much stiffer challenge, even though Robert Lewandowski is set to miss out after suffering a minor injury in Sunday's 3-0 win against Andorra. Poland's Bartosz Bereszyński was adamant that his side were "going to England to win".

That will be no easy task, given that Harry Kane has now scored in each of his last 11 European Qualifiers (15 goals in total). The Tottenham man has hit exactly half as many national-team goals as Lewandowski (33), but averages marginally more per match (0.63 to the Pole's 0.56). Kane will not get to meet Lewandowski on the field like he did in Bayern's 7-2 UEFA Champions League win at Tottenham in 2019, but may relish not having to share the spotlight.

Worth looking out for

• Austria vs Denmark has great subplots. For the hosts, Sasa Kalajdzic has netted three in his first four internationals, while the Danes (who have won their first two qualifiers for the first time since 1996) may field right-back Jens Stryger Larsen, who has yet to lose in 32 international games (W19 D13).

• North Macedonia have a big occasion ahead as they visit fellow EURO finalists Germany. Captain and 36-goal all-time top scorer Goran Pandev was rested for Sunday's 5-0 cruise past Liechtenstein; can he help to create a sensation in Duisburg?
